Our Story
Big Boy Smoker’s story began on the sun-kissed shores of Florida, born from a backyard BBQ gone epically wrong. Founder Tom “Big Boy Smoker” Hot, a self-proclaimed grill master, found himself frustrated with flimsy store-bought smokers that just couldn’t handle his culinary ambitions.
Fuelled by a fiery passion for barbecue and a touch of stubborn pride, Big Boy decided to build his own smoker – a behemoth of a machine that could handle whole hogs, racks of ribs, and anything else he threw at it. He welded, tinkered, and smoked his way through countless prototypes, fueled by the cheers (and constructive criticism) of his family and friends.
Word of Big Boy’s custom-built smokers spread like wildfire through the Florida BBQ scene. Soon, neighbors, local restaurants, and even competition pitmasters were lining up for their own Big Boy Smoker.
What started as a backyard experiment transformed into a full-fledged family business. Now, Big Boy Smoker crafts custom all-in-one grills and smokers, each one infused with the same passion, innovation, and dedication to quality that sparked their origin story.
